Skyplug

At CES, SKYX Platforms introduced Skyplug -- a smart lighting base that enables an easy and safe plug & play installation of light fixtures and ceiling fans to the ceiling in seconds, without touching hazardous wires.

The smart base transforms any light fixture and ceiling fan to a smart fixture with multiple features controlled by a proprietary SkyHome App, like voice control, scheduling, energy saving mode, dimming, color changing, night light and emergency light. Plus, the smart base is can integrate with Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung Smart Things and Cortina.

Based on the safety features of the technology, it was voted into the US National Electrical Code (NEC), and therefore, is expected to become a US household standard for ceilings. SKYX Platforms was recognized for this achievement with a CES 2023 Innovation Award Honoree award.

Matter Technology

Matter is the new smart home standard that brings interoperability, simplicity, reliability, and security to the smart home, allowing devices, regardless of brand,  to finally and simply connect and work with each other, and be controlled by any device, app, or voice assistant, regardless of which platform or operating system you use. It was created by the members of the Connectivity Standards Alliance, where  nearly 300 global companies developed and are now adopting this standard. So far, 500 products have been certified with Matter from leading brands like Amazon, Apple, Eve Home, Google, Samsung SmartThings, Schneider Electric, and Tuya.

Matter will be available in products across categories such as sensors, lighting, outlets and plugs, blinds and shades, thermostats, door locks, TVs and media devices, and control devices, such as smart speakers and home control “hubs”. Future updates to Matter will add new features and categories including appliances, robot vacuums, energy management and EV charging, cameras, garage doors and gates, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Matter makes smart home devices easier to buy for consumers as they can now choose the products that best fit their needs, regardless of what platform, smartphone, app, or voice assistant they have. Just ask for Matter or look for the Matter logo at retailers and online. Even better, tens of millions of products already in people’s homes can or will be able to be upgraded to support Matter.

Matter makes smart home products easier to set up and use, with a uniform set up process starting with a QR code that lets people easily add new products to their Matter smart home systems.

Matter also raises the bar for security, validating every device before allowing it to join your home network encrypting messages between devices, enabling local control (no cloud), and including a pathway to over-the-air security updates.
